The Story
Return with us to Sleepy Hollow, a drowsy, dreamy village. The whole neighborhood abounds with local tales, haunted spots and twilight superstitions.

The dominant spirit that haunts this enchanted region is the apparition of a figure on horseback without a head. It is said by some to be a ghost of a Hussein soldier whose head was carried away by a cannonball in some nameless Revolutionary War battle. The locals tell a story that the body of the trooper, having been buried in the Sleepy Hollow churchyard, rises as a ghost that rides forth in a nightly quest for his head.

This legendary superstition is known as The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow.

Riding into Sleepy Hollow Village comes schoolmaster Ichabod Crane, who becomes entranced with Katrina, daughter of Baltus Van Tassel, a wealthy landowner. Unbeknownst to Ichabod, however, Katrina is betrothed to local rough-and-tumble hero Brom Bones, famed for his skill in horsemanship.
